The worst problem that liberal journalists have is that mental tic that journalism equals liberalism. Conservative journalism is by definition “disinformation.”

Washington Post media columnist Margaret Sullivan perfectly exemplified this tic on Friday calling Fox News a disease – an “American plague.”

A far-left New York City man was convicted of threatening to kill Senator Manchin (D-WV) and two Fox News hosts, the feds announced on Friday. 48-year-old Ricky Johnson was convicted on Thursday of threatening a federal official and making interstate threats last year, the DOJ said.

“Rather than express his political differences constructively, Rickey Johnson escalated his discord by instilling fear. Johnson’s attempts to scare and stifle a U.S. Senator and two Fox News hosts were federal crimes for which he has now been convicted by a New York jury.,” US Attorney Damian Williams wrote in a statement.

MSNBC’s Dean Obeidallah published a column Wednesday urging his readers to pressure their cable companies to offer packages that don’t include MSNBC’s biggest competitor, Fox News. He encouraged them to join him in canceling their cable if the companies do not comply.

“If you pay for any basic cable package, you are helping fund everything that Fox News airs,” he said. “It’s infuriating that on some level you and I are complicit in the toxic fodder being peddled on Fox News by helping fund its content.”

Fox News commentator Tomi Lahren was doused with water by a woman while she was having brunch with her mother in a Minneapolis restaurant on Sunday.

Video footage of the incident shows an unidentified woman flinging a cup of water at Lahren and her mother as they were leaving the rooftop of UNION Restaurant in downtown Minneapolis. The clip appears to have been recorded on Snapchat. It includes the captions ‘Lol’ as well as an emoji showing hysterical laughing.

The caption on the bottom of the screen reads: ‘Throws a drink on Tomi Lahren hahahaha.’

But in the coming years, Fox will no longer be the center of Media Matters’ universe. That’s because the group believes it has effectively discredited the network’s desire to be seen as “fair and balanced.” “The war on Fox is over,” said Media Matters Executive Vice President Angelo Carusone. “And it’s not just that it’s over, but it was very successful. To a large extent, we won.” Go To Site

So while blaming Fox we have to admit that the Fox News channel's success is rooted in Fox's intuitive recognition of the inherent aggressiveness of the American political culture, an aggressiveness that is itself anchored in a public that's fearful of change and hostile to opposing viewpoints. - John Doyle, The Globe and Mail Go To Site

And then I went to go work at Fox News as a lefty lesbian – by the way, I'm a lesbian; I hope that didn't shock anyone, you've also read the Internet, you know – so when I showed up at Fox News, listen, I thought they had some hateful ideas, supported some hateful policies, right, but also I expected everyone on air, off air, people watching at home, I expected them to be like totalistically and completely a hundred percent hateful monsters, I just did….

Here I was thinking I was this like holier-than-thou champion of kindness and fighter of hate and I realized how much hate I walked in there with – all the stereotypes and preconceived notions and judgments, and that led me to want to understand how and why we hate because I wanted to fix it in myself.
