PHOENIX (AP) - An illegal immigrant has been sentenced to 10 years in an Arizona prison for dealing in methamphetamine.
The Arizona Attorney General's Office says Alejandro Castro-Vega received the maximum prison term Monday.
He was accused of operating a methamphetamine distribution ring in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Authorities say Castro-Vega was responsible for receiving hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine from sources in Mexico and then distributing the drug to Phoenix-area customers.

HOUSTON - A local illegal immigrant has admitted to trafficking large amounts of meth in the Houston and Laredo, Texas area. Enrique Alvaraez-Soria, 41, pleaded guilty to two incidents in Texas' southern and western districts. On Oct. 25, 2011, Drug Enforcement agents learned Alvaraez-Soria planned for a Ford F-150 to be loaded up with two fuel tanks filled with liquid methamphetamine, the US Attorney's Office says. Those tanks would be unloaded in the Houston area.

Caldwell County drug agents on the trail of a suspected cocaine dealer have captured their suspect. They arrested Genaro Emmanuel Mendoza-Picazo, 29, of Lenoir, during a traffic stop Saturday. A Hudson Police officer stopped the suspect after he was spotted by undercover agents.
