Obama Legacy Of Race Relations

It seems to be overt inflammatory actions by the administration to pit the races against each other, so I think there’s a lot of damage that needs to be healed. -Camille Paglia

There is little doubt, except to his die-hard supporters (which includes a vast majority of the mainstream media), that his failures are legion. Perhaps the most telling and egregious of which is the current state of race relations in the United States.

I voted for Obama, but I’ve been disappointed. I think we had hoped that he would inaugurate a period of racial harmony, and I think the situation has actually become even worse over recent years.

Liberals absolutely drooled over Obama’s election. They dared to ask, “is America post-racial?” The charismatic black man had been elected president, and now things would be oh so different, right? -Kimberly Ross Go To Site

[Aug 2015]: Half of Americans -- exactly 50 percent -- say racism is a "big problem" in this country, according to a fascinating new Pew poll released today. That's up an astonishing 17 points since the last time pollsters asked this question in 2010. And it represents the highest level of concern about racism in this country in at least 20 years.

Black Disappointment...

"Some people thought just because we had a Black president, he was going to make things better for Black people—he was going to free Black prisoners, wipe out Black debt. That was just ignorance.

But the disappointment some of us felt with Obama—more so with the Democratic Party—that was real. And it hasn’t gone away..."

Race Relations Deteriorate Under Obama

Oops.

At the beginning of Obama's presidency, 22% of respondents viewed race relations as bad. By July 2016, that number had jumped to 69%.

Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. said he believes President Barack Obama has damaged race relations in the United States and that he looks forward to when “we can finally turn the page on the Obama reign of terror” and heal some of the divisions Obama has created during his presidency. -Penny Starr Go To Site

Democratic federal-level campaigns are paying minority staffers significantly less than their white counterparts, according to a study from the New Organizing Institute (NOI). "African American staffers on Democratic federal-level campaigns are paid 70 cents on the dollar compared to their white counterparts; Hispanics are paid 68 cents on the dollar," writes Ethan Roeder, executive director of NOI.

That the President of the United States would deliberately and with malice be party to this exploitation and extortion is beyond the pale and will forever be a stain on what tattered shreds of his legacy remains.

"The data is going to indicate sadly that when the Obama administration is over, black people will have lost ground in every single leading economic indicator category."

We are acutely aware that nothing has changed. In fact, racial tensions among blacks, whites, and police forces across the country are obviously worse.

We viewed the Ferguson protests following Michael Brown’s death in Missouri. We witnessed the unrest in New York City following the legal decision in the Eric Garner case. We’ve heard too often of police officers being gunned down in retribution simply for their career choice.

Regardless of the details involved in each case, we realize racial tensions have only increased in Obama’s America.

Per a new Gallup poll, satisfaction with race relations and the “position” of minorities under Trump are far higher than they were under President Barack Obama, the nation’s first black president.

According to Gallup, the areas were Americans’ satisfaction grew in the past three years include the obvious, the economy, security from terrorists, and military preparedness. But under those are race relations which advanced 14 points, from 22% at the end of the Obama administration to 36% this month...
