Another Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher with the Lake County School District has been reassigned out of the classroom after he allegedly choked his wife to near unconsciousness. Anthony Javon Walker, who teaches students with behavioral issues at Oak Park Middle School in Leesburg, was charged by Leesburg police with domestic battery by strangulation on Aug. 27. He bonded out of the Lake County jail the next day after posting $10,000... "She don't want to do nothing about it, we just had an argument, that's all," Walker told police.

A longtime St. Louis-area teacher is jailed and facing charges of rape and statutory sodomy. Donald Ingerson, 67, was arrested and charged on Monday in St. Louis County. He is jailed on $300,000 cash-only bail and does not yet have a listed attorney. In a press conference this afternoon, St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch said Ingerson contacted his office out of the blue in early June with information he had sexually assaulted two former female students some 20 years apart. McCulloch said Ingerson falsely believed the statute of limitations had run out in both cases.

Two Occupy Wall Street protesters were collared Thursday for vandalizing subways — a day after a local TV news station recorded the crime, cops said. Hundreds of Los Angeles Unified School District teachers accused of misconduct are spending months in so-called "teacher jail," where teachers still collecting pay but often have nothing to do but read, blog or text. Since the scandals, LAUSD officials have enforced a zero-tolerance policy, placing nearly 300 teachers in "teacher jail" by reassigning them to office or administrative duty until investigations conclude. The move, the LA Daily News reports, is costing the district $856,000 for substitutes to fill vacancies in addition to a staggering $1.4 million monthly in regular teacher salaries.
